Christopher (Chris) Wild, PhD
Assistant Vice Chancellor / Vice President, San Jacinto College
Christopher Wild serves as Assistant Vice Chancellor and Vice President at San Jacinto College, where he leads the institution’s expanding biomanufacturing training initiatives, including the Biomanufacturing Program at South Campus and the Center for Biotechnology at Generation Park. He also represents the college in the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT) Global Partners Program, bringing internationally recognized bioprocessing curriculum and standards to the Houston region.
Chris began his career in the biopharmaceutical and chemical industries before transitioning to higher education. Over a 15-year tenure at San Jacinto College, he has served as faculty in organic chemistry, department chair of physical sciences and engineering, and dean of health and natural sciences—overseeing operations for approximately 4,000 students and 100 faculty and staff.
In parallel, Chris held an adjunct assistant professorship in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at The University of Texas Medical Branch, where he contributed to the development of novel therapeutics through the Chemical Biology Program at the Center for Addiction Research. He is an accomplished researcher with an impressive record of peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, and patents in drug discovery targeting cancer and central nervous system disorders.
He holds a B.A. in Biology and an M.S. in Chemistry from California State University, Northridge; completed graduate coursework in education at Loyola Marymount University; and earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacology with an emphasis in Medicinal Chemistry from The University of Texas Medical Branch.
