Steve Lehmann is co-founder and Managing Partner of BCM Legacy Fund, a new kind of venture fund that invests philanthropic capital at the earliest, most underfunded stage of biomedical innovation. Legacy Fund investments are designed to close the gap between a promising discovery and the point where traditional VCs and industry are ready to take the baton.
Previously, Steve built and led the venture investments practice at Portal Innovations and served on the boards of March Biosciences and Cardiosense. Before that, he led the University of Chicago's Innovation Fund. He continues to teach graduate-level courses on biomedical venture creation. Steve holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Valparaiso University.
